Food Filling Machines, various filling technologies, part-3
Corrosive Environment Fillers
Companies that package corrosive materials need to take special care when purchasing their packaging machinery, so that the machine isn’t damaged or ruined by the product being packaged. These types of machines are made out of a different material so that they won’t break down when processing these corrosive liquids. These machines are typically constructed from HDPE—high-density polyethylene. This material is designed to resist damage from a highly corrosive environment, where normal metals would typically dissolve. The other biggest challenge is to prevent corrosion, especially in a closed environment such as a filling process. It is very difficult to control the parameters influencing corrosion, such as the chemical composition of the product, its temperature, abrasiveness, pressure and fluid velocity.
Therefore, it is advisable to choose a material that does not corrode in the environment considered. Usually, this can be achieved by replacing the 304 stainless steel with chemical resistant plastics such as polyethylene or polypropylene, 316L, titanium or even hastelloy in some specific cases.
These machines, since they’re built to be able to stand up to this wear and tear, will last for years in your packaging line without damage, all thanks to the special design and materials used for building them.
Some common products that require the use of corrosion-resistant machinery include cleaning products, pool chemicals, bases such as sodium hypochlorite, acids such as hydrochloric acid, and any other corrosive liquid.
Cups, Tubs, Cans, Rigid Containers Filling Machines:
These machines are fully adjustable to offer a large container size range and are compatible with a wide range of filling. Packaging machine in which pre-made plastic cups or tubs are taken from a magazine or stack, filled and then sealed using a heat sealed aluminum or plastic membrane or with a press on lid, or both. Cups are typically indexed from the filling station to the closing station either using an intermittent motion carousel or an in-line transport mechanism. Cup filling machines are used to pack products like yoghurt, cream or margarine. Depending on the product, speed and manufacturing operations requirement various filling technologies can be used to fill rigid containers and can be volumetric or weighing or level filling machines.
Cups, Tubs, Cans, Rigid Containers-Aseptic Filling Machines:
These machines are fully adjustable to offer various container sizes and are compatible with a wide range of filling. This filling environment is aseptic / sterile for these machines and the machine construction, product handling, filling technology and manufacturing operations are ensured in such a way that aseptic product filling and handing is ensured. Aseptic filling helps in improving the shelf life of the product. The containers are typically indexed from the filling station to the closing station either using an intermittent motion carousel or an in-line transport mechanism. Cup filling machines are used to pack products like yoghurt, cream or margarine. Depending on the product, speed and manufacturing operations requirement various filling technologies can be used to fill rigid containers and can be volumetric or weighing or level filling machines.
